Writing is included in TOPIK II, not TOPIK I. In the paper-based PBT exam, it consists of tasks 51–52–53–54 on a separate two-sided answer sheet.
This page shows the real exam order, the layout of the answer sheet, the rules for filling it in, and the official parameters of each task.
1. When Writing takes place in the exam
TOPIK II PBT has two sessions. The first contains 60 minutes of Listening followed by 50 minutes of Writing. After a break, the second session contains 70 minutes of Reading.
Writing therefore starts immediately after Listening within the 110-minute first session. Exact clock times depend on the country and local test centre.

2. What the Writing answer sheet looks like
In the first session of TOPIK II PBT, candidates receive two answer sheets: one for Listening and a separate two-sided sheet for Writing. Candidate information must be completed on both.
Only text written in the designated box on the answer sheet is graded. An answer left only in the question booklet, written outside the box, or placed in the wrong box is not graded.

3. Task map and official parameters
The table and diagram obtain task numbers, response forms, ranges, and maximum points from the central registry. They do not reproduce an exam prompt or a ready-made answer.

5. Frequently asked questions
Is there a Writing section in TOPIK I?
No. Writing is included in TOPIK II. TOPIK I tests Listening and Reading only.
When does Writing take place in TOPIK II PBT?
Writing follows the 60-minute Listening section in the first session and lasts 50 minutes. After a break, candidates take the 70-minute Reading section.
Are Writing answers entered on a separate sheet?
Yes. Writing uses a separate two-sided answer sheet: tasks 51–53 are on the front, while the task 54 grid is on the back.
What pen is used, and is correction tape allowed?
Use the fine end of the supplied double-sided marker. Cross out a mistake with two lines or use your own correction tape; the test centre does not provide correction tape.
What length is required for longer PBT Writing tasks?
Task 53 uses the range 200–300 Korean characters, and task 54 uses 600–700. These ranges must not be transferred to IBT.
Is this answer sheet used for TOPIK II IBT?
No. IBT Writing is completed on a computer and follows a separate structure. The paper sheet, tasks 51–52–53–54 and the rules on this page apply to PBT.
